A Little This, A Little That

Hi guys!

Last night I went to bed feeling a tad nauseas and didn’t wake up hungry. So I had a light pre-workout breakfast that consisted of 1 cup kamut puffs in 3/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Breeze + cinnamon + toffee flavored liquid stevia;

Plus protein cookie dough- 1 scoop chocolate fudge whey protein powder mixed with 1 tbsp water:

It was pretty good! Then I headed to the Tabata Training Class at the gym. It was really fun! Afterwards I did a little back and ab work:

  • Seated Under Hand Row- 3 sets of 12 with 52 lbs
  • Smith Machine Bent Over Row- 3 sets of 10, 1 set of 5 with 40lbs
  • Seated Row- 2 sets of 8 with 55lbs
  • Lat Pull Down- 2 sets of 8 with 55 lbs
  • One Arm Row- 2 sets of 10 with 25lbs (for one arm)
  • Shrugs- 3 sets of 10 with 40lbs
  • Incline reverse crunches- 3 sets of 20
  • Knee ins with reverse crunch on incline bench- 3 sets of 10

And then I started feeling kind of nauseas again so I went home! I wanted to work shoulders today but for some odd reason my rear deltoids are extremely sore.. I think it was from my back work on Wednesday!

When I came home I was excited to try a new protein powder that the guys at YouBar sent me:

I mixed the packet with 2/3 cup 0% Fage:

The taste was pretty good! It tasted mainly like strawberries and I loved that there were real strawberries in it. (I think they were freeze dried?) It added a nice chew!

However my stomach was still feeling a little bit off so I tried to settle it with some carbs. I topped 2 slices of Alpine Valley 9-Grain Bread with 1/4 cup fat free cottage cheese (mixed with NuNaturals vanilla stevia, cinnamon, and ginger):

And then I realized why I was feeling so nauseous! You see, I’ve been on this certain medication for about a year and a half now and I’ve never forgotten to take it. Until Wednesday! Yesterday when I was about to take Thursday’s pill I saw I hadn’t taken Wednesdays so I took a double dose. (That’s what your supposed to do with this particular pill.) So obviously my body is just not feeling the double dose!

Despite a bit of a tummy sickness I proceeded to go shopping. First I hit up Kohls and finished my Christmas shopping! (I actually started in September :D ) Then I went to Sunflower Market where I found my new favorite protein powder still on sale so I obviously got another container. Last but not least I headed to Smith’s for some family groceries!

Thanks to my weird stomach I wasn’t super hungry for lunch. But 3 1/2 hours later I knew it was time to eat!

The people at Dr. McDougall’s Right Foods sent me some soups to review for you guys. So today I picked the ready-to serve Vegetable Soup:

To 1 cup of the soup I added 3 oz all natural turkey breast and red pepper flakes and along with the soup I had steamed broccoli with Braggs Amino Acids:

The soup was pretty yummy! It didn’t taste super salty which was good.. most soups have way too much salt in them! I don’t know really how to describe the taste.. it just tasted like a fresh veggie soup! I loved how easy it was though.. all you had to do is microwave!

I also had 2 Pumpin’ Pumkin cookies topped with 1/2 tsp Sunland Sweet Molasses PB:

Mmm :)

A little while later I was hungry again! I might have just been thirsty (I normally drink a gallon + water a day and I was only up to about 1/2 of this at this point) but I went ahead and had another snack: About 1/2 cup 0% Fage mixed with about 1/2 cup pure pumpkin, stevia, cinnamon, ginger, 1 tsp PB2, and 1 tbsp sliced almonds:

And for dinner.. I packed it to take babysitting! I’m babysitting from 5pm to 10pm so that’s why this post is up so early. I’m taking 2 1/2 cups of defrosted veggies with chili and a Boca Burger:

And I’m taking a boatload of snacks just in case I get hungry! I’ll probably only eat one of these (if even that) but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Well I’m off to critter-sit as my mom would say! See you tomorrow!

  5. I’m so glad you figured out the nausea. I hate it when I don’t feel up to full power!

That soup sounds REALLY good! I totally agree that salty soup is just not worth it.

And can you believe I’ve never tried a grapefruit before??? I just saw them when I was shopping today, and now I’m totally wishing I would have picked one up!

  7. aww april i feel you on the tummy issues. i have been meaning to write that email again but i have been so busy with my exams. you should really go to this website. http://www.helpforibs.com. this diet really works wonders. you need to cut out all your insoluble fiber for a while. i know its really hard because i love mine too but it really helps with bloating, constipation and diarrhea.
let me know if you need any help
