How To Make Beets
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees:

2. Get your beets out:

3. Scrub/wash the beets:

4. Cut off the ends:

5. Keep slicing the beet into about 1/2 an inch slices:

6. Spray a baking sheet with Pam:

7. Place sliced beets on the baking sheet:

8. Place in the oven:

9. Bake for 30 minutes, and then flip the beets over (I don’t advise using your bare hands):

10. Bake for another 30 minutes. When the beets are done they look like this:

The beets will have shrunk in size, turn a darker purple color, and look more dry.
Take the beets out, let cool, and enjoy!
It’s actually pretty simple.. the main idea is not to overcook! If you cut the beets thin it will be less than an hour. I definitely wouldn’t cook more than one hour no matter how thick they are.
Any questions?? Feel free to leave them in the comment section!

YAY!! I LOVE BEETS! Thank you so much for the tutorial. I tried roasting whole beets once. They came out all right, but next time I will slice them. Do they turn out like a sort of chip?

Awesome tutorial April! I tried steaming a beet once, and it didn’t turn out so well, but I’m totally willing to give them another shot.

I just found your blog, and I had to comment on this post, because I LOVE beets!!! I just made some today in fact. I’ve made them into soup (and posted the recipe on my blog), spiralized them for salads, roasted them (I usually cube them rather than slice), and also steam them. I made up a recipe for beets and kale (I called it Christmas kale), and posted it on my blog also. Here’s the link; sorry if it isn’t cool to post the link here

Thanks for the backlink and this is how I cook my beets too. Except I peel them first. SUPER Messy red hands (wear rubber gloves!) And I also use either EVOO or coconut oil, and sprikle with ginger powder. Kinda gets lost but I love beets!

Are we supposed to peel the beets or cook/eat them with the skin on?
